Coffee-Table & Art Book Printing

★★★★★ 4.9 · 136 Google reviews · made in-house in Exeter

Coffee table book printing, cased in our own Exeter bindery for photography, art and brand books.

A coffee table book is the whole point of the object, so we make it as a large format case-bound hardback. We print on heavy coated stock with colour managed on our own presses, then case the block in printed paper, cloth or buckram with foil blocking, a dust jacket or printed endpapers. Landscape, portrait and square formats up to 320 by 320 mm, for a monograph, an exhibition catalogue or a brand book. Made in Exeter, from 10 copies (25 for hardbacks), with a free digital proof on every order.

I would give 10 stars if I could. This was my first foray into preparing a book myself for self publishing. In the past we have paid a designer a vast amount which wasn’t a cost effective option for this project. Riley at Imprint was endlessly helpful and patient and we have ended up with a very professional product at an incredibly reasonable price. What is even more outstanding is that I approved the final PDF on Wednesday and received the books on Friday!

I'm delighted with the whole printing experience with ImprintDigital. In a book with many colour photos and detailed technical illustrations, the printing quality is absolutely superb, with bright, true colours, sharp details and a high-quality glossy texture. The ordering process was simple and email responses were fast, friendly and professional..A delivery issue caused by another company was handled swiftly and elegantly. I highly recommend ImprintDigital.

Questions

Coffee-table books FAQ

How much does a coffee-table book cost to print?

Large pages, colour photography, coated paper and the binding all affect the cost of a coffee-table book. Cover materials and finishes such as foil or embossing add to the specification. Use the calculator above for your exact specification, or compare UK book printing prices.

What's the minimum copy count?

From 10 copies (25 for hardbacks). We produce short runs for portfolio editions, gallery commissions and private-press projects. Choose a quantity that suits your audience and compare the per-copy price in the calculator.

Why thread-sewn binding for a photo book?

Thread-sewn binding stitches folded sections together, helping the book open more easily and supporting repeated use. It is not a completely lay-flat book. The opening depends on the paper, page count and construction, so keep important text, faces and fine image details clear of the gutter. Glued binding is a lower-cost option.

Should I choose gloss, silk or matte paper?

Gloss for the most saturated colour reproduction; ideal for high-contrast photography and product shots. Silk is the middle ground, vibrant colour without the high-gloss shine; the most popular for editorial photography. Matte reads as more refined; better for monochrome work and editorial-led books where the photography wants to feel restrained rather than saturated.

Can you do dust jackets?

Yes. Printed dust jackets over a cloth or PPC case are common for premium coffee-table editions, the case underneath can be foil-blocked or embossed so the book still looks deliberate with the jacket removed. Slipcases and presentation boxes also available for the most premium gift editions.

How long does a coffee-table book take to print?

Standard production takes 5 to 7 working days for paperbacks and 3 to 4 weeks for hardbacks, from proof approval. Delivery is additional. If you have a deadline, tell us before ordering so we can confirm what is achievable.

What's the largest size you can print?

Up to 300mm × 300mm square as standard. Larger formats are possible by special arrangement; drop us a note with the trim size you're considering and we'll confirm whether it's within our binding equipment's range.

Can I see a sample before committing?

Yes, order a free sample pack with examples of cloth Wibalin, leather, foil-blocking, paper weights and binding styles. Particularly useful for photographers and artists making spec decisions for portfolio editions.
