Both, as one service — thesis printing and binding under one roof: you upload the PDF, we print the pages and bind them in the same Exeter facility. If you’ve been searching for “thesis binding” with a finished PDF in hand, this is exactly that: no need to print anything yourself first. (We bind from your file, not from loose sheets you post to us.)
Standard turnaround is 3–5 working days from file approval. We proof within 7 days of file upload, often faster. Express options for tight submission deadlines — drop us a note before placing the order if it’s a same-week or next-week submission and we’ll confirm what’s achievable. We’ve handled 48-hour turnarounds for genuine emergencies.
Yes — thesis binding for UCL, King’s, Imperial, LSE and every other UK institution works exactly the same way: you upload the PDF your university template produced, we print and bind to your submission guidelines, and the finished set arrives by tracked courier wherever you are. Distance isn’t a factor — most of the theses we bind never come within a hundred miles of Exeter until they’re on their way back to a university library. Tell us your institution and deadline at quote stage and we’ll flag anything unusual in its spec.
Most UK universities specify thread-sewn hardback with the title and author foil-blocked on the spine for final submitted copies. The exact paper weight, cover colour and trim size vary by institution — we recommend checking with your department before placing the order. Your submission guidelines will list the specific requirements.
Typical submission requires: 2 copies for the university library, 2 for the examiners, 1 for the supervisor, and usually 1 personal copy — so 6 copies is the most common order. Some institutions require fewer (1–2 library copies and the rest at your discretion). Check your guidelines.
Yes — most theses are predominantly black-and-white text and we can print in monochrome on standard 100gsm Opaque, with selective colour pages for figures, photographs and plates where needed. Mixing mono and colour pages within one bound volume costs no more than printing everything in colour.
Wibalin cloth comes in a wide range — the most common academic colours are dark blue, dark green, burgundy and black. Some universities specify a colour by department; if your institution doesn’t require a specific colour, dark blue or burgundy with gold foil blocking is the timeless choice.
Standard convention is title, author surname and year, foil-blocked from the top of the spine downward (so the title reads correctly when the book lies face-up on a table). We’ll typeset this from the metadata you provide on the order form. If your university has a specific spine convention, share it with us and we’ll match.
Yes — many universities provide a thesis template (page size, margins, font). We print to whatever your submitted PDF specifies. Free file check on every order will flag any issues with margins, embedded fonts, page count parity or trim size before we go to press.
